1992 Ford F-150
|
This truck was purchased bone stock from it's original owner just a couple of years ago. Hardly anything had been touched, even for service. The truck had the original tires, the timing was still stock on the 302, it was never tinkered with. The downside to that is that services didn't seem to be done on everything. For example, extremely dirty fuel filter, ignition components in need of replacement, and the like. Of course that was all taken care of promptly after purchase to keep it running for awhile.

Like most 5.0 owners, yes even in trucks, the owner enjoyed it stock for a little while but wanted more from it. He started simple with the usual Flowmaster mufflers. That led to headers and a conversion to true dual exhaust. An MSD 6AL and Blaster TFI coil followed. The owner made some other minor modifications, but they just weren't enough. The engine was rebuilt as a 306 with higher compression, GT-40 heads, cam, Edelbrock intake, and an MAF conversion was done. |

A set of 4.10 gears was installed for some help moving the 2 ton vehicle off the line. The owner then decided it was time to get rid of some weight. He preformed a 4WD to 2WD conversion to drop a few pounds and drop the ride height in the front. Leaf springs were removed to lower the rear to match. Sitting low helped the look, but it needed more. Body work is being done as we speak, and it already has a new 3" hood and Mickey Thompson wheels with 275 tires all the way around.
