2004 Vento Triton R4i
|
I purchased this scooter new after having problems with pocketbikes and law enforcement officers. I was looking for a way to ride on the street without the extra money for tags and insurance like a big bike. Being a 49cc scooter, which requires only a driver's license and no registration or insurance in my area, this seemed like a good choice. I chose a two-stroke model, for a little more power in the 49cc class.

Just like anything else, I couldn't leave the scooter stock either. I installed an MRP 70cc big bore kit, clutch, variator, rollers, clutch springs, torque spring, coil, exhaust, and iridium spark plug. The scooter went from a top speed, leaned down on a flat road, of 40 something mph to cruising at 50+mph. Even with the modifications the scooter gets 60-70mpg. I also added some Michelin Bopper tires and custom decals as well as deleting the rear fender and relocating the rear turn signals. |

I crashed it in 2007 taking a turn a bit too fast. The crash bent the steering stem/triple clamp, broke a mirror assembly, scraped up the exhaust, and left body panels in need of repair. If the scooter had to be that much apart, I had to change it up a little bit in the repair process. I replaced the rear shock with a black and chrome heavy duty shock, blacked out the rear lights, and painted the whole scooter black with no decals.
